Let’s lighten up.

There’s been an ample (read: furgin’ gigantic) break between posts. And I finally think that I figured out why. Shit got too dang heavy. Whenever I sat down to write – I would often tackle a huge topic (i.e. death and grieving; spirituality; goals and ambition; purpose and passion etc). That’s all well and good but sometimes, we just want light.

Lightness in every sense of the word. Lightness in mind, body and spirit.

So coming at you today is a lightness prescription for 2019 to carpé that diem and lighten the bleep up.

Light Listening – My Dad Wrote a Porno. This has had me in stitches on my commutes up and back from the big smoke. And, for the first time in a long time, I’m not listening to something for ‘growth’ or ‘inspiration’ or ‘learning’, it’s for pure joy and a wee bit of smut. Winning combo.

Light Viewing How about some literal ‘light viewing’. Trade your hitting the snooze button for a few mornings down the beach and watching the sunrise. There are some banger sunrises that we are treated to over Summer here on the West Coast of Australia. I cannot emphasise enough how much joy it brings to your day AND how much more productive you are for having risen with the sun.

For some more light viewing – this is what I’ve been watching every hour on the hour since it was sent to me …

Light Reading Everything I Know About Love. So funny. So good. Super light.

Light Thinking – Headspace app. This is the bestest app ever ever. I adore it and it makes me feel so mentally light and spacious. It’s brilliantly packaged, marketed, accessible and incredibly powerful. Side note – I love Andy Puddicombe. Check out his TEDx talk below. Swoon slash inspo – an amazing mind doing amazing work.

Light Bodies – Beginning of a new year often calls for a bit of a reset and, maybe, the inclusion of some healthful resolutions. Health in terms of eating light (think salads, sautéed vegetables and nori or rice paper rolls) and moving da body. I’ve fallen back in love with home circuits and someone that got me super pumped for them during her ’12 days of Fitmas’ challenge. Dr Hazel Wallace is a phenomenal doctor, personal trainer and lifestyle expert. Check out her and her workouts at – https://www.instagram.com/thefoodmedic/.

So there you go. Get light and get lit.

Happy 2019 my hunnies!

Blessings and epic vibes x
