They say that admitting you have a problem is the first step. That acknowledging your addiction is the first step on the road to recovery. So, here goes.

My name is Emily and I’m a podcast-a-holic. I have been using, every day, for the past month. I’m showing no signs of stopping ….

But seriously – how brilliant are podcasts?! I have been donning my headphones and have swapped Biebs (sorry bae) for podcasts that cover a diverse range of themes and topics during my daily sweat sesh (gym or walk or yoga). I have absolutely LOVED learning about all sorts of topics, listening to people’s experiences and life lessons, enjoying their stories etc.

So today, for something different on BTM, I wanted to share with you my fave podcasts that have been adorning my psyche and making me smile :

+ The Minimalists – Two guys who swapped their consumer driven existance for high vibe, minimalism fuelled, meaningful LIVING. Inspiring and educational. I love these boys. For a taste of what they’re about – check out their amazing TedX talk here and their crazy jampacked website here.

+ Serial – Hosted by Sarah Koenig, this is a sort of episodic narrative with each piece of the puzzle being revealed week by week. I adored the first season that explored the (possible) mistrial of a young man (wrongfully) accused of killing his girlfriend. The latest series is about a soldier who, knowingly, walked off his post in Afghanistan and was captured by the Taliban. Gripping stuff!

+ Magic Lessons – Elizabeth Gilbert, author of Eat Pray Love and Big Magic, started up a little podcast that’s basically all about sharing the magic of creativity. I adore Elizabeth and her podcast is infused with her sparking energy and spirit and incredible passion for living a creative life. Highly recommended for anyone looking to amp up their creativity or even those looking for a bit more meaning and pizzazz.

+ Discover Spanish – My latest addition to the podcast family. This series is a simple, easy to follow and pretty informative collection of lessons in, yep, how to speak Spanish. With my upcoming trip to South America, I wanted to have a go learning a little more of the local langauge and this guy (Johnny Spanish – ha!) is definitely helping. Try it out amigos!

Blessings and hours and hours of crazy good listening content yo’ x
