CONSIDERING PERU? I’M ABOUT TO CHANGE YOUR ‘MAYBE’ TO A ‘HELL YES’.

It is no secret that I fell head over heels in love with Peru. It’s my happy place. The spiritual epicenter of South America. The birthplace of fun and adventure. Cities so beautiful, it hurts. And trails and explorations that will leave you awe struck and breathless. I traveled with G Adventures across this epic country – out itinerary spanning from Puno to Lima and included a Lake Titticaca homestay and the unforgettable Inca Trail to Machu Piucchu. I wholeheartedly endorse traveling with this increidble company. Their approach and ethos are entirely unique and their local guides bring expertise, passion and experience that far surpasses that of anything I have come across before. But, for me, the opportunity I had to travel with a Peruvian superman called David who was on his 457th trail hike is what I want to talk about today.

I will scream it from the mountain tops until I am blue in the face. GO TO MACHU PICCHU. Do the Inca (or similar) trail and get completely lost (metaphorically, not literally). It’s a once in a lifetime experience that can never be truly captured in the mere words and ramblings of a blog. Photos will never do it justice, retelling of stories will never do it justice and it’s the sort of thing that has to be felt to be believed.

Andean Path Travel is a Peru based company, run by David, that offers a plethora of treks and trails suitable for pretty much any traveler. Whether you want to explore in true Incan style and get yo’ hands//feet dirty, or if a single day trip by train is more your deal – they will certainly have something for you.

When I did my big write up of my Peruvian adventures – I made special mention of my dear guides and friends because it was them who truly made my trip what it was –

A word on the guides. I have missed them ever since I left them. They have such passion & knowledge about their country, the trail and the history of the Incan people that you can’t help but want to hang around and soak up their wisdom and spirit every second of the day (and just ask poor David, I kind of did, I hung off the poor guy like a leech). Both David and Miguel were outstanding in their professionalism and their willingness to make our journey an unforgettable one. These boys have my heart and I will be forever grateful for the gift they gave me. Ps they ain’t shy of experience either – it was Dave’s 457th Incan trek. Can you imagine? This guy was my hero.

If you’re considering heading to Peru, I beg of you – book the trip. If you’re considering heading off to explore Incan ruins and Machu Picchu, I beg of you – do it. If you’re considering traveling with a company, I beg of you – book Andean Path Travel and//or G Adventures.

Blessings and sloppy Peruvian kisses x
